What it saves you

Time you can actually feel

Typical savings, per use — measured against doing the same job by hand.

1–3 hrs
Per drawing-based quote

Certio counts the symbols on the plan, prices them off your own rates and hands back an editable quote.

45–90 min
Per RAMS pack

Describe the job; it assembles the risk assessment and method statement from a vetted hazard library.

Minutes every cert
Board scan & tester reads

One photo builds the circuit schedule. A photo of the tester screen types the readings into the right fields.

1–2 hrs
Every quarter, at the books

One read-only link and your accountant pulls the invoices, receipts and CSVs without ringing you once.

Figures are typical time saved per use, not a guarantee — your board, your drawing, your paperwork.

The real job

The work isn't the hard part. Everything around it is.

You're good with your hands. It's the quoting, the certs, the chasing and the paperwork where the money and the evenings leak away.

Quoting off a drawing eats a Sunday

Counting sockets and lights across six sheets with a highlighter, then pricing every line by hand — and you still second-guess the total.

Certs eat your evenings

Two hours a night typing up EICRs and PATs from scribbled notes, when you should be with the family or asleep.

Invoices sent late = paid late

"I'll do it Sunday." Sunday comes, you're knackered. The invoice sits in your head instead of the customer's inbox.

Five apps that don't talk

Cert software here, invoicing there, notes on your phone, quotes on paper. Nothing joins up and everything's double-typed.

No RAMS, no gate pass

The contractor wants a risk assessment and method statement before you set foot on site, and the last one you wrote is in a Word file somewhere.

Can't hand work to your lads

Give an apprentice your phone and they see your prices, your money, your customers. So you do it all yourself.

How Certio fixes it

Every one of those, sorted.

Not another app to babysit. An assistant that actually takes the jobs off your plate.

The problem

Pricing a drawing takes half a weekend

Counting every socket, light and smoke on the plan, then typing each line into a spreadsheet you half trust.

Certio does this

Drop in the drawing, get a priced quote AI

It does the take-off like a quantity surveyor — counts the symbols, maps them to your own price book and expands the lot into a quote you can edit line by line before it goes out. saves 1–3 hrs a quote

The problem

Certificates take all evening

Typing up boards, circuits and readings by hand, from memory, after a 10-hour day.

Certio does this

Snap a photo, get a compliant cert AI

Photograph the consumer unit and the AI builds the circuit schedule. Photograph your tester's screen and the readings land in the right fields. Live BS 7671 flags as you go, then a branded PDF with your logo. Works offline on site. How EICRs work in Certio → minutes, every cert

The problem

RAMS before they'll let you on site

Every contractor wants a job-specific risk assessment and method statement, and rewriting last year's Word file is an evening gone.

Certio does this

RAMS in minutes, from a vetted library AI

Describe the job and it picks the activities that apply, pulling hazards and controls from a library written for electrical work. The AI can only choose from that library — it never writes safety wording of its own. You review and sign. saves 45–90 min a pack

The problem

Invoicing and quoting is a faff

Different app, retype everything, forget the VAT and CIS, send it three days late.

Certio does this

Quote, invoice and get paid — same app

Quote turns into invoice in a tap, with CIS on labour only and domestic reverse charge worded properly. Clock on and off the job and your hours pre-fill the labour line. Add a pay-by-card link, then let it send the statement and the polite chase. recovers billable time on every job

The problem

You can't let staff loose in the app

Give a worker access and they'd see your margins and your money.

Certio does this

Add your team — money stays yours

Your workers get the whole app to do certs and jobs, but invoicing, quotes and prices simply don't exist for them — the money wall is enforced in three separate layers, not just hidden in the menu. Dispatch a job to a lad's phone and his work flows straight back to you. no more re-typing their paperwork

Price per circuit · get paid first

The certificate doesn't leave until the money lands.

Set your rate per circuit once. From there the last hour of every job — pricing it up, typing the invoice, chasing it, then emailing the certificate — runs itself.

Once

Set your rate

A price per circuit and per board, in settings. You never price an EICR by hand again.

e.g. £14 a circuit · £45 a board
Step 1

Finish the certificate

It counts the ways and the boards you actually tested and builds the invoice off that count — with CIS on labour only and reverse-charge VAT worded properly.

12 ways + 1 board = £213
Step 2

It goes out with a card link

The customer taps it and pays from the sofa. The certificate is finished and frozen — held back, not forgotten.

Cert held · invoice sent
Step 3

Paid — cert sends itself

The moment the payment confirms, the certificate emails itself to the customer. Even if your phone was in your pocket, or off.

Paid 21:04 · sent 21:04

It only ever releases on a confirmed payment — never a pending one, and never twice. If a send can't get through, the invoice stays marked paid and tells you, so nothing goes quietly missing. Prefer to hand the certificate over first? Turn the hold off and it behaves like any other job.

Everything in one place

The whole trade, in your pocket

Every one of these is in the app today. The ones that give you an evening back are marked.

Point the camera at the MFT and the readings type themselves into the right fields, on the right circuit.

Import someone else's cert AI

Photograph or upload an existing EICR, EIC, Minor Works or PAT and it becomes an editable draft — the original filed on the customer.

Schedule of results, spreadsheet-fast

Compliance sweep before you issue

One pass over the whole certificate for gaps, contradictions and missing signatures, so nothing goes out half finished.

Building Control notification, pre-filled

It works out whether the job is notifiable at all, then opens NICEIC with the notification already filled in from the certificate. You check it and press submit — NICEIC have no API, so the last tap stays yours.

saves 10–15 min a notification

Drawings with a real measure tool

Mark up the plan on your phone, set the scale and take true measurements straight off the sheet.

Progress journal

Photos and a note per visit, date-stamped, out as a branded progress report the client can actually follow.

Calculators & BS 7671 offline

Seven calculators — cable size, Zs, volt drop, adiabatic and more — plus a pocket regs reference with no signal needed.

Getting paid

Drawing take-off → priced quote AI

It counts the symbols across the plan like a quantity surveyor, maps them to your price book and expands the lot into an editable quote.

saves 1–3 hrs a quote

Quotes & invoices done properly

CIS taken off labour only — never your materials — and domestic reverse-charge VAT worded the way HMRC wants it.

Job timer feeds the invoice

Clock on when you arrive, off when you leave. The hours land on the labour line instead of being rounded down from memory.

recovers billable time every job

Pay-by-card links

Drop a card link on the invoice and let them pay from the sofa, instead of waiting on a transfer that never quite happens.

Statements & the polite chase

See who owes you at a glance and send a firm-but-friendly reminder without writing it yourself. Court letters and packs get drafted too — you decide whether to send.

Cheapest materials on your route

Prices the job's parts across the wholesalers and points you at the branch that's both cheapest and genuinely on the way.

saves ~10 min and real money a run

Running the business

One link for your accountant

A revocable, read-only link that lets them pull invoices, receipts, credit notes, payments and CSVs without a login and without ringing you.

saves 1–2 hrs a quarter

Receipts and supplier invoices, filed AI

Snap a receipt and the figures come off it — anything unreadable stays blank rather than guessed. Supplier invoices emailed in are filed on their own.

Bank feed reconciliation

Match payments against invoices from a read-only feed. Certio can see the money arrive; it cannot move a penny.

MTD quarterly figures

Your income and expenses totalled for the quarter, plus CSVs to hand over. The submission itself still goes through your MTD software.

Project margins

What you quoted against what it actually cost, per job — so you find out which work is worth doing before the year end does.

Renewal radar

Every EICR at about five years and every PAT at about twelve months comes back round as repeat work, instead of being forgotten.

Your team & your day

Teams with a hard money wall

Workers get the certs, the jobs and the receipts. Prices, quotes, invoices and totals are blocked in three separate layers, not hidden behind a toggle.

Dispatch a job to a worker

Send the address, the scope and the paperwork to a lad's phone. What he does on site comes back into your records, not a WhatsApp thread.

Diary, jobs map & drive times

Your week on a map with live drive times between calls, so the day you plan is a day you can actually do.

Reply drafter AI

A new enquiry comes in and the reply is already written in your voice, from your own settings and prices. You read it and tap send — nothing goes out on its own.

saves 3–5 min an enquiry

Cloud backup & new-phone restore

Drop your phone in a puddle and your certificates, jobs and money records come back on the next handset.

Straight answers

The questions every sparky asks first

No small print games. If it isn't answered here, email us and a human will reply.

Are the certificates BS 7671 compliant?
Certio produces EICR, EIC, Minor Works and PAT documents laid out to the model forms in BS 7671 (18th Edition, as amended — A4:2026), with the NICEIC and NAPIT wording electricians expect. The document is the tool; the engineering judgement stays yours. You are the competent person signing it, exactly as you would on paper.
Does the AI invent test readings?
No. The AI only transcribes values it can actually read — from your photo of the board, your tester's screen, or your dictation. It never guesses a reading. Where it infers something that isn't printed in front of it (a circuit description, a cable size), it flags the field as an assumption for you to confirm. Blank stays blank until you fill it.
Will it message my customers on its own?
No. Certio drafts the reply to an enquiry in your voice, using your own settings and prices, and then waits for you. Nothing is sent to a customer until you have read it and tapped send. The same goes for chasers, statements and any letter it drafts for you.
Does it do my books and my tax?
It does the donkey work. Receipts are scanned, supplier invoices emailed in are filed automatically, payments are matched against invoices from a read-only bank feed, and your quarterly income and expense figures are totalled with CSVs ready to hand over. Your accountant can pull the lot through one revocable read-only link, no login needed. Certio does not file your return for you — the submission still goes through your MTD software or your accountant.
What happens when the Starter trial ends?
If you carry on, Starter starts billing at £5 a month plus VAT from day 8. If you don't, nothing is taken and the app drops to view-only: every feature is greyed out, but your certificates stay yours — you can still open them, export the PDFs and download your data, and you can delete the account whenever you like. We don't hold your documents hostage. Subscribe again and everything switches back on exactly as you left it. Pro and Business have no free trial — they bill from the day you subscribe.
Can I cancel whenever I want?
Yes — monthly, no contract, no notice period, no exit fee. Cancel in a couple of taps from Billing in the app or the web portal and you keep the plan until the end of the month you've paid for. Payments are handled by Stripe, so your card details never sit with us.
Do I need my own AI keys or accounts?
No. There is nothing to sign up for elsewhere, no API keys to paste, no developer console to visit. The AI is included in your plan and runs on Certio's own accounts. You log in, and it works.
Does it work with no signal on site?
Yes. Certificates, jobs, photos, quotes and invoices all live on your phone, so a plant room with no bars doesn't stop you working. Everything syncs the moment you're back on signal. The AI features that need the internet — reading a board photo, reading your tester's screen — queue up and run as soon as you reconnect.
Is there an iPhone version?
Today the native app is Android, and iPhone users get the full web portal in Safari — sign in at certio.uk and you have your jobs, certs, quotes and invoices. Add it to your home screen and it behaves like an app. The App Store build is in progress and will be a free upgrade for anyone already on a plan.
Is my customers' data safe?
Your data is sent over encrypted connections and stored on UK-based servers, with connected-account credentials encrypted at rest. We never sell your data or your customers' data. You can export or delete everything from inside the app at any time, and deletion is permanent. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Can I bring my old certificates and invoices over?
Yes — and we do it for you, free, on every plan. Start the trial, email support@certio.uk with what you're on today (iCertifi, EasyCert, Tradecert, Clik, FastTest, NICEIC Online, QuickBooks, Xero, whatever it is) and attach the exports. Your certificates come in as documents on the right customer, with your customers, quotes and invoices alongside. We never alter or re-sign a certificate issued elsewhere. How switching works.
