Where EasyCert may suit you better

Certio isn't the right fit for everyone. EasyCert may be the one for you if any of these matter most.

You'd rather buy a licence than subscribe

EasyCert is sold as a one-off licence: £174.95 for EasyCert Pro¹, including the first year of updates and support; after that, Customer Care is £49.95 a year²³. Certio is a monthly subscription.

You need fire alarm, emergency lighting or solar PV certificates

EasyCert includes BS 5839 fire alarm, BS 5266 emergency lighting and solar PV certificates⁷. Certio doesn't do those yet.

You work from a Windows PC in the office

EasyCert installs on Windows 10 and 11⁵, and several PCs can share one certificate database over your office network².

Questions about switching from EasyCert

Do I need a Windows PC to use Certio?

No. Certio runs in any web browser and has an Android app, so there's no desktop software to install. The iPhone app is in App Store review; until it's approved, you can use it through TestFlight.

EasyCert is a one-off licence. How does Certio's cost compare?

EasyCert Pro is £174.95 and EasyCert Mobile £224.95, each a one-off licence with the first 12 months of Customer Care included. Renewing Customer Care costs £49.95 a year per licence, and the mobile app needs a current package to import, export and email certificates. Tysoft's site doesn't say whether these prices include VAT (checked 12 September 2026). Certio is £5 a month on Starter, £10 on Pro and £39 on Business, ex VAT, with no contract. Which costs less over time depends on how long you keep the software and which features you need.

Does Certio do fire alarm, emergency lighting or solar certificates?

Not yet. Certio does EICR, EIC and Minor Works certificates laid out to the BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 model forms, plus PAT certificates. EV charger, solar, fire alarm and emergency lighting certificates, PAT labels and accounting-software sync aren't in Certio yet. EasyCert includes fire alarm, emergency lighting and solar PV certificates.

Can I bring my EasyCert certificates into Certio?

Yes, and the migration is free. Send us what you can export and we load your existing certificates, customers, quotes and invoices into Certio. Certificates issued elsewhere come in as documents on the customer's record and are never altered. See how switching works.

Does Certio use AI on certificates?

Yes, for the typing. Photograph the consumer unit and Certio reads the ways, device types and ratings into the schedule of test results; anything it can't read stays blank. Readings come from a photo of your tester's screen or from a Megger MFT-X1 over Bluetooth.

Is Certio connected with EasyCert or Tysoft?

No. Certio is made by Certio Software Ltd and isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Tysoft or EasyCert. EasyCert is a trademark of its owner.
